Waxing is the most popular method of removing hair from the body, like arms, legs, under-arms and even the back. One of the main advantages is that large areas of unwanted hair can be removed in one session by waxing. It also removes the hair by the roots. Although initially it may be slightly painful, the results are generally satisfying. The skin also feels soft and smooth. Also, since it removes hair by the roots, it gradually lessens hair growth over a period of time. The hair that grows back also becomes softer in texture.
Many women have hair on their backs and therefore, want to wax their backs too, so that they can wear low necklines at the back, or blouses with an open back with ribbons. Some women have coarse and thicker hair, when hair removal from the back becomes necessary.
There are many ways of removing back hair, including shaving, hair removal creams, or even laser. But most prefer waxing, as the result is softer, smoother skin and
hair re-growth is slower.
One may need to wax again after three weeks.
The problem with waxing the back is that you may not be able to do it by yourself at home. You will need help. At home, you can have your back waxed with cold waxing strips. Or you can have it removed at a beauty salon, the sugar and lemon mixture is used to prepare wax. These are natural ingredients and are safer than chemical ingredients that may be present in hair removal creams. Actually, both sugar and lemon have an exfoliating effect too, softening and removing deal cells. Therefore, the skin looks smoother and brighter after waxing. It may also help in removing tan from the back. Ready-to-use waxes may also contain ingredients like paraffin, which is also a natural ingredient. For bet- ter results, the wax is applied in the direction of hair growth, while the strip is pulled off in the opposite direction.
One problem with the back is that it is very rich in oil glands. Therefore, it is prone to pimples and acne. If the skin is prone to eruptions, apply mild astringent lotion.
Some natural ingredients, like cucumber, have an astrin- gent effect. Apply cucumber juice by itself on the area and wash it off with plain water after 15 minutes. Or, mix cucumber juice with rose water in equal quantities, for an astringent-toner. If the skin seems rough, apply aloe vera gel on the area. Aloe Vera contains zinc, which has a healing effect on the skin and also helps to soothe the skin.
After pulling off the waxing strips put ice cubes in a clean cloth and apply it on the waxed area for a few sec- onds at a time. This helps to close the pores. In fact, skin irritation, rash, eruptions, redness can result after wax- ing. That is why it is necessary to keep a few points and home remedies in mind to keep the skin soft, smooth and free from problems.
