Desh Bhagat Committee remember martyrs’

Jammu: Martyr’s Day of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarbha and Gadari Baba’s were celebrated with patriotic fervour by the Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Committee at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev, Chand Nagar Jammu.
A heartfelt tribute was paid to the sons of soil who sacrificed their life at a very tender age.
On this occasion, an extempore was organised and his dedication towards the country was praised and appreciated by the participants and appealed the youngsters to follow their footsteps and be ideal and patriotic citizens of the country.
In this regard a seminar was organized at Gurudwara under the leadership of Sukhdev Singh, Convener of the Committee in which senior trade union leaders, prominent citizens attended the function and shared their views.
Speaking on the occasion, Sukhdev Singh said, “we salute to Shaheed Kartar Singh, for his indomitable valour and patriotism that inspires generations”.
When the Ghadr party was founded in mid-1913 with Baba Sohan Singh Bakhana, a Sikh peasant from Bhakna village in Amritsar district, as president and Lala Hardyal as secretary.
Kartar Singh Sarbha was hanged to death at the age of 19 years on November 16, 1915.
Speaking on the occasion the speaker appealed to the Central government that they will take up the matter with England Government for bringing back the belongings of Shaheed Udham Singh.
