Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma chairs ‘Housing for All’, ‘Skill Upgradation and Self Employment’ meets

JAMMU, MAR 14: Deputy Mayor JMC, Purnima Sharma here on Saturday chaired the 6th ‘Housing for All’ and ‘Skill Upgradation and Self Employment’ Standing Committee meetings here at Conference hall.
Councilors Sonika Sharma, Sharda Kumari, Suneet Raina, Narotam Sharma, Inderjeet Kour, Rahul Kumar, Pritam Singh, Surinder Choudary, members of the ‘Housing for All’ standing committee alongwith Sudhir Bali ACR JMC, Tarseem Lal Thappa JCW JMC, Mohit Mahajan XEN (C) JMC, Dr. Shamim Health Officer JMC, Representatives from JUDA, Housing Board and other members of the committee were present in the meeting.
The members of the standing committee raised many issues for which directions were given by the Deputy Mayor to the concerned Officials and departments.
It was informed that the meeting started with the review of the issues raised in the previous meetings and action that has been taken so far.
Regarding IHL project, HFA Schemes, schemes to promote various skills; many issues were raised by the Councilors. Several Councilors brought up the issue that till date no toilet under the IHL Scheme has been constructed in their ward.
In this regard, Deputy Mayor issued on spot directions to the concerned officials to complete all the pending cases. The concerned official stated that the pending cases will be started in the financial year April, 2020-March 2021.
Councilor Ward No. 3, Narrotam Sharma raised the issue on whether the State Subject (PRC) of the beneficiary to apply for the HFA scheme is needed or not.
The Representatives of J&K Housing Board replied that as per the directions of the Deputy Mayor in the previous meeting, the issue has already been taken up with the Government.
Councilor Ward no. 55, Pritam Singh said that no list of ongoing works under the HFA Scheme in the ward has been provided to them.
The Deputy Mayor directed the representatives of Board to provide a list of ongoing works under the HFA Scheme to the concerned ward.
Members of the Housing for All Standing Committee proposed that some special powers and funds should be allocated to the Chairman of the said committee so that some relief can be provided to the cases of emergency nature.
The Deputy Mayor proposed for the renovation of municipal assets.
Regarding Self-help groups, the members were asked to give their opinions and ideas for promotion of Self- Help groups and the Deputy Mayor suggested the construction of fabricated shed at different places in JMC wards.
