DDC suspends 23 employees during inspection of Govt offices

BANDIPORA: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmed on Monday suspended 23 officials for their unauthorized absence from duties, while action against eight district officers was also taken on the spot.
Dr Owais during a surprise inspection suspended 23 absentee officials along with eight district officers and attached them to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
He also directed to withhold the salaries of eight absent district officers and asked them to explain their position within two days failing which action shall be taken against them for remaining absent.
The DC instructed all the other employees to remain punctual to their offices and warned that no laxity on their part towards their duties will be tolerated.
He said the district administration shall take tough action against absenteeism to ensure smooth functioning of government departments and prompt deliverance of services to the people.
Meanwhile on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed, different law enforcing agencies on Monday launched a massive drive against violators of COVID-19 SOPs and imposed fine on the pedestrians who were found without masks.
The teams also inspected the shops to check whether the shopkeepers have undergone COVID-19 test besides attending mandatory training, a fine of Rs 5000 was realized from the erring pedestrians, customers and shopkeepers during the inspection.
During the inspection the officers also appealed the people to follow the SOPs and other health related advisories for the safety of their own health and of others, they also warned people of strict action if they continued to violate SOPs.
