Cutting across the lines; various political parties celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti

JAMMU: Cutting across the party lines, leaders from various political parties paid their tributes to Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in various functions organized here today.
Paying glowing tributes to Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today said described the architect of the Constitution of India as a great visionary, saying his birth anniversary should be observed as Democracy Day in view of his immense contribution in evolving the democratic setup in the country.
“The people will always remember Baba Saheb for giving the country best Constitution of the world”, Mr Rana said while leading the party leaders and workers in paying tributes to Baba Saheb on his birth anniversary at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning.
Babu Ram Paul, Swarn Lata, Th. Kashmir Singh and Vijay Lochan also paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb on his birth anniversary.
Rana said that adhering to the principles of the Constitution and ensuring the fruits of democracy to reach all would be best and befitting tribute to the great luminary. He said the ideology of the legendary leader is humane, which is needed to be emulated. “Let us fulfill his dream by creating a society based on equality and social justice”, he added.
The Provincial President said that Dr Ambedkar dedicated his entire life for the welfare of weaker sections and his contribution in that regard was exceptional. “There is greater need for collectively working for welfare of weaker sections of the society so that social inequality could be minimized”, he maintained.
Rana said the best tribute to the great leader would be to imbibe the spirit of oneness which alone can lead the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity.
He highlighted the enormous contribution of Dr Ambedkar in heralding a new dawn for the people of India in general and weaker and down trodden segments of society in particular and recalled the struggle and contribution of the great leader in the evolution of democracy.
Throwing light on various facets of the life and struggle of Dr B R Ambedkar, Lochan said his unflinching commitment towards social justice brought about a revolutionary transformation in Indian social order and helped in carving a society based on equality, justice and opportunities for all.
The Provincial President and the senior party leaders profusely garlanded the portrait of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb.
While paying tributes to the Messiah of the poor and other marginalized segments of the society, the other speakers exhorted the people to propagate his principles and work for carving a society where opportunities of progress are available to all, irrespective of caste, creed, colour and the region.
They said the efforts of Baba Sahib yielded dividends in terms of creating opportunities in every sphere of activity for the weaker sections, which made a big turnaround in the politico-social landscape of India. They hoped the people would emulate the spirit of togetherness and shun the tendencies of hatred for making India a better place to live.

Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Bali Bhagat today appealed to the people to come forward and avail the benefits of multiple schemes launched by the Central Government in the name of Bharat Ratna B. R Ambedkar especially for the welfare of weaker sections of the society.
Addressing a gathering as Chief Guest during a function to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti as ‘Samarasta Diwas’ at Lower Roop Nagar here today, the senior BJP leader said that the birth anniversary of framer of the Indian Constitution is no less than a festival for the people of this nation and deserves to be celebrated with full enthusiasm and reverence.
Bali Bhagat said that it was due to his extraordinary acumen and qualities that Ambedkar remained British India’s Minister of Labour in Viceroy’s Executive Council, a member of the Constituent Drafting Committee, independent India’s first Minister of Law and Justice, and is considered to be the chief architect of the Constitution of India. Moreover, he was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer, who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination towards the untouchables, he asserted.
Bali Bhagat emphasized that Dr Ambedkar was a strong votary of social equality for all sections especially the downtrodden and weaker sections and honouring the huge contributions of the great leader the Union Govt has launched a number of schemes in the name of Babasaheb for the needy and weaker section people. He said that the birth anniversary of this great leader is being observed at national level as ‘Social Equality Day’ and is being celebrated with full enthusiasm and patriotic fervour in all the JMC wards of Raipur Domana Constituency. He said that Ambedkar fought for achieving equality and justice to all sections of the society and the Bharatiya Janata Party stands resolute towards this cause.
Paying rich tributes to Ambedkar, Bali Bhagat yet again expressed gratitude to the Union Govt as well as the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory administration for declaring the birth day of the framer of Indian constitution as a holiday. He appealed to the party cadre to organize programmes at all levels to make the people aware about the welfare schemes launched by the BJP government for the weaker sections.
Meanwhile, District Jammu West unit of the BJP paid rich tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 130th birth anniversary in a function organized here today.
BJP celebrates Ambedkar’s birthday as “Samrasta Diwas”. The programme was held at District headquarters where Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma and Former State President BJP Sat Sharma (CA) along with other leaders of the party paid tributes to Ambedkar. The program was held under the leadership of District President Munish Khajuria.
State BJP Executive Member Praduman Singh, District General Secretaries Advocate Rajesh Gupta & Advocate Karan Sharma, Mandal President Raveesh Mengi, Corporators Suneet Raina and Sunita Gupta and many others including District and Mandal Office Bearers were present. He advised youth to follow on the footsteps of Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Ambedkar’s efforts to bring the deprived sections of society into the mainstream will remain an example for every generation. “I bow to the great Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on Ambedkar Jayanti,” he added.
Sat Sharma said that he was fondly referred to as Babasaheb, he was a jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination and supported the rights of women and workers.
Munish Khajuria said that Ambedkar gave a strong foundation to independent India so the nation could move forward while strengthening its democratic heritage.
In another function Neeraj Dewan General Secretary Panthers Trade Union greeted the people of the country and J&K on the 130th birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar and paid his tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution. He said Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated by the people of India to remember his immense contributions for the poor people. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar is the father of Indian Constitution who had drafted the Constitution of India. He was the great human
rights activists born on 14th of April in 1891, Ambedkar spent his life working for the upliftment of the backward communities Dalits, minorities, Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST). He had established the “Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha” in the year 1924 in India aiming to spread the necessity of education as well as enhancing the economic status of the low group people of India.
Bhaujan Samaj Party (BSP) JK UT on Wednesday organized a programme at its head office Satwari here to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Bharat Rattan Baba Sahib Dr. B.R Ambedkar who has worked day and night for the upliftment of the downtrodden & ignored communities of the society and also fought the emancipation of the women folk and right to equality for all.
Baba Sahib as also written the Indian constitution by which the Govt. is working in various social economic, welfare and development in all spare of humanize. He sacrificed his life for getting various concessions like education, religious social equality for all.
MP and Coordinator Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Ram was the Chief Guest who highlighted the contribution/ sacrifices of Baba Sahib.
He also criticized central and state govts for violating the constitutional provisions by ignoring the poor section of the society who have been befooled by the false promises.
President BSP JK UT, S.R Majotra, who presided over the function, welcomed the new comers who joined the BSP and appealed the general masses to strengthen the party if they want security of their future generation.
He also criticized the govt. for its failure to control the hikes in prices of all commodities, burdening the common man by collecting of various taxes, unemployment among the youth have reached at alarming heights.
