CRPF jawan, 4 civilians injured in grenade attack in Budgam

Srinagar: Two women were among four civilians, who were injured, apart from a jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), in a grenade attack by the militants on a security force party in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
Official sources told UNI that militants lobbed a grenade at security force deployment in Pakherpora market in Budgam on Monday.
However, the grenade missed the target and exploded at a distance. ‘Four civilians and a CRPF jawan received minor injuries in the blast,’ they said, adding that the militants managed to escape during the chaos created due to the explosion.
They said the injured were rushed to a hospital. ‘Additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers,’ they added.
This is the third militant attack in less than 24 hours in Kashmir valley. A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was injured in a grenade attack on a Power Grid station in this summer capital on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, three CRPF jawans and a civilian were killed in a militant attack on a naka party at Handwara in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara.
