COVID: J&K reports fresh 1590 positive cases, 18 deaths

Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday reported 1590 new positive cases of Novel Coronavirus (832 from Jammu division and 758 from Kashmir division), taking the total number of positive cases in this Union Territory to 58244.
Also, 18 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; including 11 from Jammu division and seven from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 747 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, including 275 from Jammu Division and 472 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on COVID-19, out of 58244 positive cases, 19503 were Active, 37809 recovered and 932 died; 185 in Jammu division and 747 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 1297329 test results available, 1239085 samples have tested negative till September 16.
Till date, 530708 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation, which included 31140 persons in home quarantine, including facilities operated by the government, 19503 in isolation and 63886 under home surveillance. Besides, 415247 persons have completed their surveillance period.
