COVID-19 death toll in US crosses 6,000: Johns Hopkins University

Washington: Covid-19 pandemic in the US has claimed 6,053 lives till now and infected 2,45,500 people as per data released by Johns Hopkins University on Friday.
The university has declared New York to have the highest number of fatalities as 1,562 people have died due to the highly contagious disease, Sputnik reported.
On the positive side as many as 9,228 people have also recovered from the disease till date.
The United States is currently the most adversely affected country in the world in terms of number of positive cases identified.
Johns Hopkins University statistics declare that uptill now more than 1 million people have been infected with the virus worldwide, and 53,000 people have lost their lives due to it.
