Court rejects bail plea of 5 drug peddlers

JAMMU: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Tahir Khurshid Raina today rejected the bail applications of alleged five drug peddlers namely Vishav Dogra, Sumeshwar Singh Jamwal, Amit Sharma, Sahil Zadoo and Vicky Kumar who were book by the police in NDPS case.
Pursuant to these bail applications, a report was submitted by the ASI Police Post Chinore Jammu. As per the police report on 15.11.2019 these five accused persons were sitting in a suspicious situation along one canal who on seeing the police patrolling party that was on routine checking, tried to run away from the place. However, police caught them and from their possession 530 capsules of Spasmepyevon Plus were recovered along with Rs. 3000 cash. On enquiry the accused gave their introduction and from their personal search contraband Heroin was also recovered which ranged from half gm to one gm from each of the accused-applicant.
Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Tahir Khurshid Raina after hearing APP Suresh Sharma appearing for the state, observed that “….the society by its collective wisdom through process of law can withdraw the liberty that it has sanctioned to an individual when an individual becomes a danger to the collective and to the societal order. Accent on individual liberty cannot be pyramided to that extent which would bring chaos and anarchy to a society. With these observations the Court held that it does not find any merit in these bail applications, which are accordingly rejected. The accused are on interim bail and as such their bail bonds are cancelled and they are taken into custody forthwith to be sent to judicial custody.
