Congress stages massive protest against Inflation, GST; Mir, Bhalla among several leaders detained

JAMMU,  Congress Staged a massive protest here on Friday against price rise, unemployment and Good Services Tax (GST).

Scores of Congress leaders under the leadership of President of Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), G A Mir assembled outside Congress Party Headquarter Office Shahedi Chowk Jammu and raised slogan against Central Government and Bharatiya Janata Party.

Talking to media JKPCC President, GA Mir said, “Central Government is an anti people Government as Modi made Inflation and unemployment is at the peak.”

Since independence, the unemployment and inflation all time high rate show that BJP led Government makes situation vulnerable across the India, Mir added.  It is unfortunate that common people of India are forced to pay the charges for their essential items in the form of GST.  Mir told media.

While raising a slogan against Government, protestors demanded to withdraw the GST hike on essential items, by adding, “Congress continue its struggle to raise the issues of inflation and unemployment in favour of common man interest.”

The protesters tried to take out a protest march towards Rajbhawan, however, stopped by the Jammu Kashmir Police and not allowed to proceed.

Later Jammu Kashmir Police detained the Congress leaders including GA Mir and Raman Bhalla.
