LEH: As per the Media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh, the Health Department Leh yesterday received 88 sample reports of Leh district and all these reports tested Negative for COVID-19.
Today 460 samples were sent to NCDC New Delhi for testing. Out of these 222 samples are of Leh district and 238 samples are of Kargil district.
The bulletin further informed that the condition of all ten active cases of COVID-19 in UT Ladakh is stable, among which one active case is in Leh district and nine cases are in Kargil district.
It is also mentioned in the bulletin that the first COVID-19 testing laboratory of UT Ladakh at Chuchot Yokma, was inaugurated by the Member Parliament Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal in presence of the Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Leh, Gyal P. Wangyal. The state of the art bio-safety Level 2 (BSL-2) Laboratory is the first molecular laboratory in Ladakh which after COVID-19 will be used for testing HIV, Tuberculosis, Swine Flu and Hepatitis B with long term aim of up-grading to test genetic disease, cancer markers and research.
Meanwhile, a surveillance team of Pandrass visited 60 households in Pandrass for screening, while a sampling team of Drass today collected 74 samples from Mulbek. A normal delivery was also conducted in S/C Abran of Kargil district.
Yesterday 137 Passengers were screened at Khaltsi Check Post. They reached Leh in 4 buses, 4 Mazda and private vehicles.
188 Passengers were screened at Upshi Check point yesterday. They came in 9 buses. A total of 26 trucks/tankers also reached Upshi. 36 Drivers and Helpers were screened and vehicles were sanitized.
