Civil Society of J&K accords rousing reception to newly appointed Advisor to Governor Farooq Khan

JAMMU: Civil Society of Jammu and Kashmir accorded a rousing reception to the newly appointed Advisor to the Governor, Farooq Khan on his arrival here today. People from all walks of life and different communities converged outside airport to receive and garland the newly appointed Advisor. He was brought to Amar Singh Club, Jammu in the form a procession, where he was felicitated by office bearers of Civil Society of Jammu and Kashmir led by Kiran Wattal, former Municipal Commissioner, Rajesh Gupta, state VHP president, Dr Yudhvir Gupta, convener J&K Civil Society, Abdul Majid, president Muslim Federation Jammu and others. The Advisor was presented bouquet and felicitated by various social/ trade organizations of Jammu. Later, in a function organized by J&K Civil Society, the newly appointed Advisor was welcomed by Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta, Member Legislative Council and senior BJP leader Ashok Khajuria, Vice-Chancellor of Central University Jammu Dr Ashok Aima, president Chamber of Commerce Rakesh Gupta, president Press Club Ashwani Kumar and secretary Amar Singh Club Jammu Vijay Saraf on behalf of the executive committee of the club.
The programme commenced with welcome address by Kiran Wattal, general secretary of J&K Civil Society, who welcomed the newly appointed Advisor to the Governor. He praised and thanked central government for considering him for the coveted post. Wattal also thanked members of the Civil Society for assembling at a very short notice to welcome son of the soil.
Farooq Khan, Advisor to the Governor thanked J&K Civil Society for organising this function to welcome his appointment. He assured the civil society that he would try his level best to come up to the expectations of the people of the state and also assured working day in and day out to ensure that rule of law was established in the state.
