BSF officer dies due to “gun shot” in Kathua

Jammu: An Assistant Commandant of Border Security Force on Thursday died in “gun shot” along the International Border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The deceased officer was identified as V B Yadav of 19 Battalion.
He was posted at BSF’s Karole Krishna border outpost, in Hiranagar sector of Kathua.
“One of our officers had died due to “gun shot” but exact cause is being ascertained,” a senior BSF official here told UNI.
Meanwhile police said, “it is being investigated that he allegedly committed suicide or died in accidental fire.”
A case has been registered and investigation started, police added.
