BJP postpones its Public Darbars as preventive measure

JAMMU, MAR 12: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K here on Thursday postponed its ambitious programme to reach up to masses by conducting Public Darbars at every Mandal though it was advised to avoid unnecessary panic while taking all the preventive measures amid Coronavirus threat.
It was informed that the Public Darbars were scheduled to be initiated from March 15 to 22 at every single Mandal throughout the region of Jammu and were planned to be addressed by MPs, former Ministers, former MLAs, former MLCs and senior leaders of the party.
The development has been made in view of the fast and unrelenting spread of Coronavirus and recent findings of new positive cases in the Union Territory of J&K.
In a presser, J&K BJP General Secretary &former minister, Sunil Sharma stated this. He was accompanied by other party General Secretaries including Vibodh Gupta and Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal.
Sunil Sharma said, “In wake of the present circumstances, BJP has decided to keep a hold on its all public programmes keeping in view the public health above all and as such the Public Darbars by our party have been postponed for now till the situation improves and the spread of Covid-19 is checked.”
He said that for the decision, advice issued by various health agencies at UT as well as the National level have been taken into consideration and mentioned that recently World Health Organization (WHO) has declared it as Pandemic as it has been spreading in multiple countries around the world at the alarming rate.
Sunil said that BJP as a responsible public organization and leading political party, it has become duty of party to aware the people about its spread and hence BJP itself will avoid any such gatherings in which large number of people would assemble.
He requested to general masses to take all essential measures to restrict the spread of disease.
