Another meeting was held at Doda, which witnessed the participation of BJP leaders from Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts. The meeting was presided over by party state general secretary Sunil Sharma along with party’s state co-incharge for membership campaign Priya Sethi (former Minister) and was also addressed by former Minister Shakti Parihar, former MLA Dilip Parihar and other senior leaders of party.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the meeting, laid thrust on the importance of membership campaign. He said that this whole drive, supposedly core element for “Sangathan Parv”, constituted the foundation of internal democracy in the party. He claimed that BJP was the only political party in the whole country which had created the true picture of democracy as anybody with a humble background and sheer hard work and dedication could reach to the top most post in the party’s hierarchy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister and party’s National President Amit Shah and numerous other BJP leaders have started their journey without any political backing and this is due to this membership drive itself, he said.
Ashok Kaul, in his address, said that the BJP as world’s largest political party in the terms of primary membership had yet to reach its pinnacle, as held by National President and all party workers had to push harder to achieve the aim. Aspiring target of 17 lakh membership by party in J&K, every single party representative has to play his or her part well which is to be efficiently augmented by Mandal Incharges and Co-Incharges set up by the party for the membership drive, stressed Kaul.
