Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav: EC Chandan inaugurates farmers training programme

KARGIL: As a part of the 75 Years of India’s Independence- Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Executive Councillor for Agriculture Muhammad Ali Chandan inaugurated a farmers’ awareness/training programme at Serjing Shargole here today.
Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, BDC Chairperson Shargole, Sarpanchs, Panchs besides good number of local farmers were present on the occasion.
In his address, EC Agriculture Muhammad Ali Chandan stressed on farmers to adopt the latest innovations and technologies at their farms to increase the net production of all agricultural crops cultivated in the area. He also urged farmers to go for crop diversification and cultivate cash crops for income generation.
Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil, Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan also addressed the farmers and exhorted upon them to generate income from farming and improve their livelihood through the agriculture sector.
The trainers who imparted training on the occasion included State Nodal Officer UT Ladakh Muhammad Hussain Khan, DAOI Ashiq Hussain, DAOE Muhammad Iqbal, SDAO Muhammad Hussain Akhone, SMS Kargil Razia Banoo, AEO Shargole Muhammad Ali and JAEO Muhammad Shah.
Meawnhile, the EC Agriculture also distributed UV films among the Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Shargole zone on the occasion.
