To achieve the objectives of Election Commission of India’s SVEEP programme which is aimed for voter education and increasing voter awareness to make a truly participative democracy in India, the District Election Officer / Deputy Commissioner Leh Avny Lavasa conducted a day long tour in various villages of Trans-Singhe-la area.
Addressing the public gatherings at Fanjila, Hunufatta and Fotoksar, Avny Lavasa strongly urged upon all the eligible citizens to vote on May 6 for Lok Sabha elections.
During the tour, she also visited educational institutions in this area and interacted with the students about their current state of education as well as availability of basic infrastructural facilities and teaching staff. The people of these villages welcoming the DC put forth various village level demands.
The Master Trainers also conducted workshops and gave live demonstrations on the operating procedure of EVM and VV PAT at these places followed by distribution of election badges to the voters.
On the second day tour of DC today, she visited the newly opened polling station at Hipti. Here she took stock of the availability of Assured Minimum Facility such as road, drinking water, toilet, ramp and electricity at the polling station and directed to the concerned officers to ensure the basic facility for convenience of the electorates.
The SDM Khaltsi, Tsering Motup, Exen. PWD Khaltsi and BDO Khaltsi were accompanying the DC during the tour.
