New Delhi: The celebration of ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’ in the middle of the 75th year of Independence has made ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ even more special, Prime minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday.
‘Tomorrow, 26th July, our nation will mark Kargil Vijay Diwas. ‘This time the glorious Kargil day will be celebrated in the middle of Amrit Mahotsav. So, it becomes even more special,” Modi said while addressing the nation in the 79th edition of his monthly radio broadcast – ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
‘Amrut Mahotsav’, he said, is not about a government. It represents the sentiments of 130 crore Indians. The programmes of the celebration of the diamond jubilee of Independent India had begun on March 12 at an event at Sabarmati Ashram, Modi said. Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi March had also commenced on the day, the PM reminded.
Programmes related to ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ are being held all over the nation since then, he said.
