Active Covid-19 cases in India lowest in 186 days

New Delhi: With 26,964 new Covid-19 cases and 383 deaths in the in the last 24 hours, the cumulative case tally has gone up to 3,3531,498 and the total death toll to 4,45,788, according to the Union Health Ministry data given on Wednesday.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.69 per cent in the country while the active cases have remained under 3 lakh after declining by 8,606 cases, as per the Health Ministry’s bulletin.
The cumulative active caseload now stands at 3,01,989, a 0.9 per cent share of the total Covid-19 cases, the figures showed. According to the Ministry, the current percentage of active cases is lowest since March 2020.
Meanwhile, 34,167 more people recovered from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours making the recovery registry climb to 3,27,83,741 As per the data, the recovery rate stands at 97.77 per cent.
A total of 55,67,54,282 Covid-19 samples were tested up to September 21. Of these, 15,92,395 samples were tested on Monday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Meanwhile, India has administered 82,65,15,754 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.
