Police arrest 4 absconders in J&K’s Baramulla

Srinagar,  Police have arrested four absconders who had been evading their arrest for decades in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The accused, identified as Manzoor Ahmad Shah, a resident of Eidgah Srinagar; Mohammad Rafiq Khatan, son of Rengawali Tangmarg; Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh of Bujthalan Boniyar; and Babar Bashir Pala, a resident of Krankshivan Sopore, who were evading their arrests for decades, have been arrested by a special police team, Police said on Sunday.

“A warrant issued by the court of 1st Additional Sessions Judge Baramulla, Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) Tangmarg, and Sub Judge JMIC Baramulla pending with Police Station Kunzer, Chandoosa, and Sheeri against accused persons involved in cases FIR No’s. 296/1998, 25/2014, 16/2011, and 67/2022 of Police Station Pattan, Chandoosa, Sheeri, and Kunzer were executed, and all four were arrested by a special police team, police said.

All the arrested persons were subsequently produced before the Court of Law, police said.
