Jammu, Two youth died and one sustained injuries due to lightning in two separate incidents in parts of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police on Friday said that two youth and more than 30 sheep and goats died due to lightning at two places in Kotranka area of Rajouri district on Thursday evening.
Last evening lightning struck in a house at Kanga Patli Panjnada area, where a nomad family was staying with sheep and goats. One Zafar Iqbal, 28, son Mohammad Bashir, resident of Panjnada died on the spot while Shaukat Ali,22, son of Wali Mohammad was injured.
However, over 30 sheep and goats also died.
The administration on getting the information rushed the medical team to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Vikas Kundal directed the officials to reach the spot and submit a report after taking stock of the situation.
Meanwhile in another incident, one Faiz Mohammad (22), son of Abdul Ghani, resident of Jaglanu area, Kotranka, also died due to lightning when he was inside the Dhok (a mud house).
The administration has taken cognizance of the incident.
