Srinagar : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that controversial movie “The Kashmir Files” was a sheer propaganda promoted by the ruling BJP to demonise Muslims.
Israeli Filmmaker Nadav Lapid, head of the international jury at the International Film Festival of India, said “The Kashmir Files” was “propaganda and vulgar”. “The Kashmir Files” has “fascist features”, Israeli Filmmaker said.
Lapid, the head of the international jury at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, said at the festival’s closing ceremony that the Vivek Agnihotri-directed film was “propaganda and vulgar”. He said the jury was “disturbed and shocked” at the screening of the film. His comment triggered massive reaction from the film maker of the controversial movie.
“Finally someone called out a movie that was nothing but sheer propaganda promoted by the ruling party to demonise Muslims especially Kashmir’s & widen the gulf between Pandits & Muslims”, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said in a tweet.
“Sad that diplomatic channels are now being used to silence the truth”, Mehbooba added.
