This was the second notification issued by the NTA in a single day today which has given a much needed respite to more than 24000 students who otherwise have to appear in the entrance test outside J&K UT. In the earlier issued clarification notice today regarding the CUET (UG) Centres in J&K UT, it was informed that the CUET (UG) slated to be held on May 21, 22, 23, and 24, a total of 18012 candidates will be appearing in 12 Centers, i.e., 3 in Jammu, 5 in Srinagar, 2 in Baramulla and 1 each in Samba and Pulwama respectively.

“A total of 87309 unique candidates have been registered from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. This is a phenomenal increase in the number of registered candidates as per the last year. Being sensitive to the needs of candidates and to facilitate the students of J&K, the NTA is exploring the possibility of creating temporary Centres in Kashmir”, a NTA notice said.

“For further clarification regarding CUET (UG) – 2023, candidates may contact 011 – 40759000 / 011 – 69227700 or e-mail at [email protected] Candidates are also advised to regularly visit NTA website(s) www.nta.ac.in and https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/ for the latest updates regarding the examination”, it added.

Pertinently, J&K UT intervened after scores of J&K UT students were in distress owing to the creation of centres for CUET UG outside J&K. Taking cognizance of the matter, the J&K Higher Education Department had taken up the matter with the NTA and requested for re-allotment of centres in twin cities of Srinagar and Jammu respectively.
