Jammu : Describing Maharaja Gulab Singh as an architect of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, the Maharaja Gulab Singh Brigade (MGSB) alongwith Yuva Rajput Sabha on Friday celebrated the birth anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh here at Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital.
Brigade Chairman MGSB Shivang Satya Gupta flanked by its President Rajay Jamwal, Working president Anil Singh Rakwal, Vice President Tarsem Singh, Secretary Aman Gupta and other activists participated in the event.
They were also joined by Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) President Rajan Singh Happy along with its members.
The celebration started with the pooja and tilak ceremony of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji while the prominent personalities from Jammu paid floral tributes to the Maharaja.
“Maharaja Ji not only extended the geographical boundaries but also brought about a sea change in all the spheres of life and ensured equitable development of all the regions without any bias,” said the Brigade Chairman.
He urged the young generation to remember the greatness of their ancestors and take pride in the legacy and traditions to make their future bright.
“It should be our constant endeavor to take inspiration from the great Dogra warrior who shaped the future of India,” Gupta added.
YRS president Rajan Singh appreciated the efforts of MGSB for organizing various events to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji.
Later on members of the MGSB alongwith YRS activists distributed sweets and fruits while the people jointly appealed to the government to name Jammu airport and highest rail bridge in District Reasi as Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Airport and Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Rail Bridge.
