Mayor lays foundation stone of Sulabh Shochalaya

Mayor, JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Councillors Sharda Kumari and Sham Lal laying the foundation stone of Sulabh Shochalaya in Jammu on Thursday

JAMMU: Continuing his commitment to provide better basic facilities to the people of Jammu city, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Councillors, Sharda Kumari and Sham Lal, Arun Gupta, Xen JMC, Junior Engineer JMC and other field staff of JMC visited various localities of Ward No’s 47 & 48, which included Bahu Fort, Gorkha Nagar, Kalika Colony and met with the inhabitants of these wards and listened to their grievances.
The inhabitants highlighted problems, which included improvement of sanitation, desilting of deep drains/nullah flowing through their Mohalla, repairing/installation of street lights on the road leading to Bahu Fort temple, lifting of stray dogs/animals, repairing of lanes and drains. Mayor directed the officers to look into the demands of inhabitants and resolve their issues on war-footing. Later, Mayor also inaugurated the foundation stone of Sulabh Shochalaya near Kalika Colony Bahu Fort which was the major requirement for people of surrounding areas and pilgrims/ tourists. Representatives of Sulabh International were also present on the occasion.
He also appealed to the inhabitants to segregate the dry and wet garbage at their own level and should not throw polythene, household garbage in the public lanes and drains.
