Jammu, A special police officer (SPO) was taken into custody on Saturday for his alleged involvement in a drug peddling case in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that one SPO has been arrested for his involvement in drug peddling, adding, “it was learnt through reliable sources that one Javed Ahmed of Hamdanpur, Doda used to keep drugs (cannabis) in his possession and was selling to the youths in the town.”
On receiving information, the team swung into action and apprehended the accused person and during search contraband was recovered from his possession.
The accused is serving as Special Police officer and presently posted in DPL Doda.
A case has been registered and investigation started.
