International Conference begins at Central University of Jammu

JAMMU : A two-day International Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences (RACS-2022)’ being organized by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) com- menced today.

Dr V. Sridharan was the Convenor of the conference and Dr. Tapta Kanchan Roy, Dr. Princy Gupta and Dr. Sujata Kundan acted as Organizing Secretaries of the conference. Other organizing members com- prised of Dr. Mousami Pal, Dr. Shilpi Balgotra, Dr. M. Karuppasamy, Dr. Anand Sachar, Dr. Rajneesh Paul Sharma and Dr.Faizan Danish. The conference has a special emphasis on the state-of-the art research in the emerging area of chemistry like catal- ysis, supramolecular chemistry, organic synthesis, green chemistry, organometallics, materials science and computational chemistry.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Sourav Pal, IISER Kolkata, Prof. H. Ila, JNCASR, Bangalore, Prof. Devanand, Dean of School of Basic and Applied Sciences, Central University of Jammuand Dr. V. Sridharan, Head, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Sciences, CUJ. The conference has brought over 200 participants across the country to interact and share their research on different areas of chemistry.

The inaugural function was started with a welcome address followed by lightening of lamp by the guests along with Saraswati Vandana by Sumita. Prof. Sourav Pal has emphasized the need of high-quality research in his inauguration speech. He highlighted that this event will enable the young minds to have interactions and inspi- rations from eminent scientists.
Prof. Devanand said that such con- ference is aimed to motivate quality research in the emerging areas of chemistry.

Dr. V Sridharan extended his grati- tude to the distinguished scientists and participants who travelled from vari- ous parts of the country to attend this event. The inaugural function was ended with the formal vote of thanks by Dr. Tapta Kanchan Roy.
