DDC Launches Plantation Drive At GWDC

District Development Commissioner, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah today lunched a plantation drive here at Government Women’s Degree College (GWDC).

The drive was organized by Forest Division Romshi Range in collaboration with Social Forestry Department Pulwama.

Accompanied by DFO Pulwama, the DDC planted saplings of Cyprus species in the college premises.

Meanwhile, the DDC interacted with the students and urged upon them to work hard, both in academics and sports domain, as education is the only way by which they can prove themselves in different fields of life.

He said that district Pulwama has remained on the forefront of educational pursuit and produced personalities with leadership qualities in all walks of life. He reiterated that students of the district have proved their mettle at state as well as national levels.

Principal Government Women’s Degree College, officials of the forest department and social forestry, college staff and a large number of students participated in the drive.
