SAMBA : Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today reviewed the progress of works taken under Swachh Bharat Mission here at a meeting in DC office com- plex.

After reviewing the sta- tus of works, the DC emphasized upon the exe- cuting agencies to expedite the tendering process and allotment. She directed for completion of all pending works within the stipulated time frame. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to sensitize the peo-
ple regarding segregation of solid and wet waste for bet- ter waste management. She asked the officers to explain to people in detail the importance of segregation of solid and wet waste in their homes. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers to act on a multi dimensional strategy, roping in all government depart- ments, to provide the people the facility of collection of household waste materials at their doorsteps.
All the stakeholders were sensitized about the impor- tance of the issue and fur- ther necessary directions were given to the BDOs and XEN REW to ensure that EOI are issued in all the Panchayats by the end of this month.
Meanwhile, to review the effective implementation of Schedule Castes and
Scheduled Tribes preven- tion of atrocities Act 1989 in the District, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta chaired a meeting of officers of differ- ent departments in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex Samba.
District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, Additional SP and other stakeholders attended the meeting. Threadbare discus- sion was held on the issues related to Socio-Economic development of people belonging to SC/ST, Assistance/ Maintenance expenses provided to victim of atrocities and Constitution of “District level vigilance and monitor- ing Committee” for review- ing implementation of SC/ST Prevention of atroci- ties Act 1989 discussed in detail.
