SAMBA : In continuation to the steps taken to achieve efficient and effec- tive public services delivery and public grievances redres- sal, District Administration Samba today conducted weekly block Diwas meeting at remote Panchayat Taloor of Sumb Block.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta listened and addressed the public griev- ances put across by locals through PRI members in presence of district heads of line departments Sarpanch and other elected members.
During the Block Diwas programme delegations from adjoining Panchayats and individuals appraised the Deputy commissioner regarding different issues.
They demanded piped water connections, adequate power supply, maintenance and con- struction of rural roads, cov- erage of left out families under social security schemes and projected sever- al other local issues.
The Deputy Commissioner, taking cog- nizance of the demands,
directed line departments to share details on scheduled powers cuts, achievements under govt sponsored schemes, besides ensuring that all grievances are docu- mented and action taken report was submitted to her office. The Deputy Commissioner Samba assured the locals that each issue will be taken up and resolved within a stipulated time frame.
The directions were issued to all executing agen- cies to immediately start work on the tendered works, failing which strict action shall be taken.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Samba also distributed Land passbooks among beneficiaries at pan- chayat Ghar Taloor.
Meanwhile, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Department of Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, New Delhi has undertaken an ini- tiative wherein senior offi- cers of State & Union Governments are visiting around 5000 FPSs across the country with aim to signifi- cantly enhance the visibility of FPSs and sensitize the sen-
ior officials about the ground level realities of PDS opera- tions, as well as gain a holis- tic understanding of ONORC, PMGKAY among others.
Accordingly Deputy Commissioner, Samba Anuradha Gupta (JKAS), today inspected a Fair Price Shop of Darshan Lal at Swankha Morh in Vijaypur Tehsil.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner, Samba checked the available & required infrastructure, quality control measures adopted by the FPS, benefici- aries experience with such FPS, type of service delivery at FPS and transparency as well as grievance redressal mechanism implemented on the ground level.
Moreover, the beneficiar- ies present and FPS dealers were also asked about the challenges faced by them, besides seeking their sugges- tions. The beneficiaries stat- ed that they are getting their entitled ration as per rate & scale under various depart- mental schemes i.e., NFSA, PMGKAY etc.
