DC listens to grievances of local residents in North Jammu

JAMMU : To get first-hand account of the public grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa today presided over Weekly Block Diwas programme, here in Jammu North.

Several delegations, besides scores of individuals apprised her about the problems being faced by them in day to day life.

The main issues highlighted during the programme were related to irregular supply of water and electricity, provision of road connectivity in uncovered areas, augmentation of drinking water supply, cleanliness and sanitation of the area etc.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the delegations and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their genuine grievances.

She assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities, besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.

She also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets ensuring the delivery of the benefits to the rural masses.

SDM Udham Daas, Tehsildar Jai Singh along with other senior officers were present during the block diwas.
