The curfew that was imposed on Friday after violence was reported from Gujjar Nagar and other Muslim-dominated pockets of Jammu during massive anti-Pakistan protest against the Pulwama attack, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel was relaxed in different areas of the city at different timings.
Curfew was relaxed from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in Nowabad Police Station, Peer Mitha Police Station, City Chowk Police Station.
In a press conference held today, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar announced relaxation given in curfew in different regions of Jammu.
Two hours relaxation is applicable in Janipur, Pacca Danga, Bus stand, Satwari, Digana, Kachi Chawni, Shalamar from 3 pm to 5 pm while as relaxation from 3:30-7 pm is applicable in the areas falling under Police Stations of Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar, and Satwari except for Narwal, Bhatindi, Bagh-e-Bahu, Digiana, Belicharana, Gangyal, and Ware House.
“However, restrictions would be in place in these areas under Section-144 on public gatherings,” DM said.
The District Magistrate has urged people to maintain peace and tranquillity and do not allow the miscreants to create any trouble in their respective areas.
