Cops are public servants, must take pride in serving people: SSP Samba

Jammu :  A day after assuming the charge as new Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh on Wednesday told his team that cops are public servants and they must take pride in serving the people.

Chairing a maiden meeting of his subordinates, the SSP Tosh directed them to provide public-oriented policing with a sincere and honest approach in their respective jurisdictions.

While imparting instructions to the officers, newly posted SSP Samba said, “Police officers, being public servants, should take pride in serving the people in accordance with their expectations and should make all-out efforts to free the society from drug abuse, crime and terror.”

Tosh further directed that henceforth concerned Gazetted Supervisory Officers and SDPOs shall personally visit the Scene of Crime (SoC) in specially reported cases and place of occurrence of any untoward incident immediately along with concerned SHOs and shall issue necessary guidelines on the spot to the investigating team with copy to higher ups.

Moreover, the concerned SHOs shall ensure that maximum possible evidence is collected within twenty four hours of the incident and perpetrators of crimes are apprehended immediately, SSP further directed.
