Jammu: AICC leader and Incharge party affairs Punjab and Chandigarh, Harish Choudhary on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Govt on the Adani issue questioning his silence on the demand for a JPC probe.
Intensifying its campaign seeking JPC probe, as a part of AICC press conferences at 23 places across Country including Jammu and Kashmir, Choudhary flanked by JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani, Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney, questioned the silence of PM Modi over the major demand of JPC into the alleged Mega Scam involving the hard earned money of the crores of countrymen.
Choudhary made serious charges that during the period between January 24 to February 15, 2023, the share value of Adani group noticed a downfall of 10,50,000 Crore.
“The value of shares of Adani group purchased by LIC was 83,000 Crores on Sept 30, 2022 which fell to 39,000 Crores on Feb. 15, 2023 which means loss of 44,000 Crores of the savings of 30 Crore LIC policy holders,” he said.
He alleged, “despite all this, the Modi Govt compelled LIC to invest additional 300 Crore in the follow-on public offer (FPO) of the Adani enterprises.”
On July 19, 2021, the Finance Ministry had admitted in the Parliament that Adani group is under investigation on the charges of violations of the norms of SEBI but still the Adani Group was allowed a hike in the value of its shares in the market.
“The promoters of Adani group were also found to be involved in share market fraud in the 2001 Khetan Darekh scam,” he added.
Inspite of all these charges, instead of ordering a probe, he said that the Prime Minister Modi has offered more opportunities during its “Mitar Kaal” budget this year, he Alleged stating that on June 14, 2022, Adani group announced investment of 50 Billion dollar in the “total energy” of France, as partnership in the green hydrogen, while on January 4, 2023, the Central Finance Ministry granted sanction of 19744 Crore for nation green hydrogen Mision.
However, “Total Energy” has stopped its partnership in this project and whether there is any Business announcement of Adani group whereby any subsidy was not paid out of investors money, he added.
Choudhary also lashed out at the BJP Govt. for not responding to the call of the nation for a Joint Parliamentary Probe into this serious matter involving hard earned money of crores of Indians.
