KATHUA : District Administration Kathua today organ- ized the Weekly Block Diwas meeting at Block Hqr Hiranagar where Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey along with a team of officers listened and resolved issues of the local people.
BDC Chairperson Ram Lal Kalia, CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, PRIs, District and Sectoral officers were also present.
Scores of individuals and deputa- tions including PRI members project- ed demands and apprised the District Administration about the problems faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas.
Demands including timely provi- sion of Fertilizer and Seeds by Agriculture Department, meeting shortage of staff in RDD Department, increase in frequency of JKRTC serv- ices in Border belt of Hiranagar, early construction of Patwarkhana in Kootah, addressing the problem of Monkey menace, up-gradation of PDD infra in Hiranagar etc were chiefly highlighted by the locals.
The DC passed on the spot direc- tions to the concerned departments to
ensure the redressal of the issue high- lighted by people on priority and in a time bound manner.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said the Block Diwas ensures doorstep services delivery and redressal of the genuine grievances of the common man. He called for coordination and collaboration among the departments and PRIs to achieve desired develop- ment objectives besides timely inter- vention and action to mitigate the suf- ferings of the people.
The DC Kathua informed the gath- ering that the District Administration has devised a monthly calendar cover- ing all 257 Panchayats of the district where Gram Sabhas will be convened
with active participation of PRIs and Departmental Frontline Functionaries to have proper consensus before for- mulating the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP). He called upon all stakeholders to participate in the Gram Sabhas, the schedule of which has already been issued by the Deputy Commissioner Office.
The DC directed concerned BDOs to ensure that all PRI members be informed about monthly scheduled Gram Sabhas so that no one should be left out in the planning process of GPDP. He directed District Officers to ensure participation of frontline func- tionaries of their respective depart- ments in scheduled Gram Sabhas.
