Srinagar : Security forces recovered arms and ammunitions from the house of overground worker in Jammu and Kashmir Kupwara district, police said on Wednesday.
They said the OGW a resident of Panjitara Karnah was absconding.
Police said a joint operation was launched with Army during the preceding night following an input about presence of arms in Karnah village close to the Line of Control.
“Acting upon reliable input, a joint search operation was launched by Police and Army 6 JAKRIF in village Panjitara of Police Post Taad Police Station Karnah where many houses of suspected persons were searched in presence of locals of the area. During the search of a house belonging to Mukhtar Hussain Shah an AK Rifle, a magazine, 22 live ammunition of AK, a 9 mm Pistol and a magazine was recovered from the house,” a police statement said. “The OGW is absconding.”
Police said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigations taken up.
