Advisor Bhatnagar addresses valedictory ceremony of KC Sportathon 2022 at KC Public School Jammu

JAMMU : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today maintained that Sports inculcates disci- pline and dedication among the players and plays an important role in character building of an individual.
The Advisor made these comments during the Valedictory ceremony of KC Sportathon 2022 at KC Public School here.
Addressing the large gathering of school children, players and other personali- ties, Advisor Bhatnagar remarked that Jammu and Kashmir has a tremendous sports talent and the govern- ment is making remarkable strides to tap that potential of youth here and make them capable of participat- ing in National and International competitions.
The Advisor highlighted that in last three years, the J&K Administration under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha had revamped the sports infra- structure here and start of Art sports facilities are being established in every nook and corner of the UT. He added that the government
has given top priority to the sports here and in that direc- tion, infrastructure of inter- national standards is being developed here to nurture the sports talent of youth here.
Advisor Bhatnagar on the occasion, also took a round of KC Sports club and inspected the facilities avail- able there. He appreciated the management of KC Sports club for making this club as a hub for learning various sports games and other co-curricular activi- ties.
Later, the Advisor dis- tributed trophies and prizes
among the winner students of different categories. He also interacted with them and encouraged them to par-
ticipate in games with much commitment and dedication as sports sports help in char- acter building of an individ- ual and keeps one fit.
During the week long mega event different sports events were held in different categories.
In the category of Soft
Tennis (Boys) Soham Bhat of (KCPS) bagged the first position by winning Gold medal, Shulin Koul of (JMPS) won the second position and received Silver medal and third position was shared by Hardeep Singh of (KCPS) and Madhavendra Singh of (DPS) and both won Bronze medals.
Similarly, in Soft Tennis Girls Category Sidhani Singh of (DPS) Bagged first position and got Gold medal, Shreemai Bhat and Harshita Jalali of (KCPS) won second and third posi- tion by winning Silver and
Bronze medal respectively.
In Cricket, KC Public School emerged as the win- ners and KC International School got the runner-up trophy.
In Swimming competi- tion, KC Public School secured first position, Jodhamal Public School bagged second position and Heritage Public School won third position.
During the valedictory function, Advisor Bhatnagar also presented Certificate of Scholarship to Vanshika Gosain of grade 6th of the institute for her selection to National coaching camp being organised by the Swimming Federation of India on the basis of her exceptional performance at Khelo India Junior women’s swimming series, held at New Delhi recently.
Among others, the vale- dictory session of Sportathon was attended by Chairman of KC Educational Society, Raju Chowdhary; Managing Director, Arti Chowdhary, Vice-Chairman, Arjun Chowdhary, Principal of school, Amarendra Kumar Mishra, large number of students and other players.
