JAMMU, AUG 23: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was held here today under the Chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, president. The meeting was attended by office bearers and members.
During the meeting, various issues relating to Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community were discussed in detail.
While addressing the participants, Shadi Lal Pandita reiterated his demand for implementation of Prime Minister’s employment package in letter and spirit by filling the remaining posts under this employment package at an earliest for affording employment opportunities to the deserving educated migrant youth.
It has also been said that the Government had assured construction of additional 6000 residential flats in different districts of Kashmir Province for providing suitable accommodation to the Migrant employees serving in Kashmir Province. Pandita also reiterated his demand for ensuring necessary steps for starting construction of additional residential quarters.
He further said that the Central Govt and State Government has time and again been requested for ensuring cash assistance relief of Rs 6500 for single soul relief holder family as well as Rs 13000 for two soul/three soul relief holder family as such families after having attained advanced age have developed multiple ailments for which they have to incur huge amounts for their medical treatment which they are unable to manage with present meager financial assistance relief.
Pandita has stressed that the Central Government should ensure early mitigation of the sufferings of such single soul and two soul/three soul families by ensuring cash assistance of Rs 6500 for one soul and Rs 13000 for two/three soul families respectively per month.
He also demanded for advertising 1000 posts for class-IV for those Migrant youth who could not continue their studies beyond Matriculation due to poverty.
Pandita said that the previous government had assured for reserving and advertising 10000 posts for adjusting Kashmiri Pandit Migrant educated youth in different departments but nothing in this regard has been done. He demanded for announcing 10000 posts for educated KP Migrant youth to adjust them in different departments.
He also demanded for grant of one time compensation to the KP Migrant families for the losses suffered by them due to damages to their properties in Kashmiri Valley during past about 30 years.
