843 pilgrims pay obeisance at Amarnath, over 2.81 lakh have darshan so far

GJ REPORT SRINAGAR, Aug 17: As many as 843 pilgrims have paid obeisance on Friday at the holy Amarnath cave shrine, where so far over 2.81 lakh yatris have had darshan of the self-made ice-Shivlingam. The 60-day-long yatra, which commenced from June 28, will conclude on August 26. An official spokesperson said on the 51st day of the yatra, 843 yatris paid obeisance at the holy cave. Till date, he said 2,81,227 yatris had the darshan of the shivling. He said no yatri was allowed from Jammu to leave for Kashmir on Friday though 34 pilgrims at Nunwan Pahalgam base camp left for Jammu early this morning. Meanwhile, an eight-day-long sanitation-cum-camp cleaning drive along both traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal tracks has been launched from Thursday.
