Rich Dogra culture to be showcased at parallel I-Day celebration function in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 13: Former Minister and BJP MLA Choudhary Lal Singh on Monday said that rich Dogra culture will be showcased at a parallel Independence Day celebration function to be held here.
“We are fighting for rights of Dogras and this Independence Day, a separate function will be held at Government Higher Secondary School Ground Satwari, which will showcase the rich culture of Dogras,” Singh told reporters here on Monday afternoon.
The Government function of Independence Day will be held at Mini Stadium, Parade.
He said that besides cultural programmes of different languages and traditions representing Dogra culture irrespective of religion, caste, colour and creed, different food stalls will be also be set up at the venue where Dogra food will be served to the gathering.
Singh however, appealed to the people of Jammu to participate in large in the celebrations, adding, “we are nationalist forces and people across the country must understand that, Jammu is fighting for its pride and dignity against the decades old discrimination we had faced in the hands of Kashmir centric leadership.”
Lal Singh also floated “Dogra Swabhiman Sanghathan” on completing 100-day of its fight seeking CBI probe in Rasana (Kathua) rape and murder case.
“I also appeal to the people of Jammu that each house should hoist a Tri-Colour on Independence Day to mark the celebrations being nationalist forces,” adding, “the venue will be fully decorated and the participants will be in Dogra turban and traditional dresses.”
Singh lambasted the Kashmir centric politicians for ignoring Jammu of its rights and said that the Sanghathan will keep fighting unless the goal is achieved.
He also appealed to the people to go on mass leave on September 23, the birth anniversary of last Dogra Ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, who signed instrument of Accession with Government of India on October 26 so that Jammu and Kashmir remains an integral part of India.
