Jitendra slams NC, Cong for fooling people of J&K on Art 35-A

Jammu: Without naming Article 35A, Union Minister in Prime Minister’s Office Dr Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that the leaders of Congress, NC and their allies have been befooling people of Jammu and Kashmir. “The leaders of Congress, NC and their allies have been befooling people of Jammu and Kashmir who have no problem in getting a daughter-in-law from outside J&K along with dowry in the form of residential flats in Gurgaon and elsewhere, but when they marry their own daughter outside J&K, they use the alibi of State law for denying her any share in the parental property,” Dr Singh here told reporters. He said that similarly, some of these self-styled leaders enroll their own children in some of the best schools and colleges outside J&K and go to AIIMS Delhi even for a minor ailment, but are too possessive to allow any outsider to explore their resources or set up industry here to generate jobs for local youth. Further accusing parties like Congress and National Conference of fooling the people of Jammu with ‘selective’ nationalism, Dr Singh said, in Jammu they talk of national integration and Indian sovereignty, but when in Kashmir they talk of so-called aspirations of people based on sympathy for Pakistan and anti-India elements. He also accused Congress and National Conference of indulging in worst kind of political hypocrisy to fool the innocent masses and said, “while in Jammu, these parties eulogize the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh and hail him as the saviour of Jammu, but while in Kashmir the leaders of these parties offer floral wreaths on the so – called Martyrs Day on July 13, to denigrate Maharaja Hari Singh and to commemorate Sheikh Abdullah’s revolt against the Dogra rule”. He said, over the years, these parties have mastered the art of using the name of Maharaja Hari Singh selectively to suit their convenience and even Maharaja’s State Subject Law of 1927 is quoted selectively without referring to the clauses which allowed relaxation of rules for settlement of such non-State subjects in the State who could benefit Jammu and Kashmir through skills of entrepreneurship, academics or scientific excellence. Reiterating that Rohingyas and Bangladeshis were brought to India by the Congress party, with a dubious motive to change the vote demography, Dr Singh said, just wait and watch, it is the BJP Government which will identify and deport Rohingyas in much the same manner as it had identified the illegal Bangladeshi settlers in Assam after over three decades of the Assam accord. Earlier, addressing a congregation of ‘Ekal Vidyalaya’ functionaries, Dr Singh complimented the organization for spreading education to the remotest and the most peripheral parts of the State and imparting to youngsters, education coupled with nationalistic ethos and values. He also lauded the ‘Aarogya’ Foundation associated with the organization, which has carried healthcare services to such remote areas where the routine healthcare centers are yet to be set up.
