Army busts terrorist hideout in Poonch, cache of arms, ammunition recovered

Jammu, Aug 9: Army and security forces on Thursday busted a terrorist hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Acting proactively on a tipoff, joint teams of the Army and Police on Thursday launched search operations in Kath Panjal nullah in Chapriyan area of Poonch district and busted a terrorist hideout of arms and ammunition,” defence spokesman here said.
He said that the recovery included one AK-56 Rifle with three magazines, one 7.62 rifle of foreign origin, four pistols with seven empty magazines, one revolver, four empty AK-47 magazines, 14 grenades, two water bottles, two bags, 273 rounds of AK 47 rifle, 97 rounds of AK 56 rifle, 31 rounds of pistol and other warlike stores.
“The cache recovery scuttled the nefarious designs of the inimical forces to attempt and derail the peace and harmony in the region,” he added.
