Ceremonial BPM b/w India, China held in Ladakh, vow to maintain peace at LAC

Leh, Aug 2: Troops of India and China reiterated to main peace at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) during a ceremonial Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) between the troops of two neighbours.
“The BPM meeting was held at LAC in eastern Ladakh on the occasion of China’s PLA Day,” Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said on Thursday.
He said that Ceremonial BPM on the occasion of “China’s PLA Day” was conducted on Wednesday at Chinese BPM hut of Chushul – Moldo Meeting Point of Eastern Ladakh.
“The ceremonial BPM was marked by saluting the National Flags by delegation members,” he said.
This, Col Kalia said was followed by the ceremonial address by both Delegation Leaders which included exchange of greetings and vote of thanks and reflected the mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at functional level at the border. Thereafter, he said a cultural programme showcasing Chinese culture and traditional grandeur was organised.
“Both the delegations interacted in a free, congenial and cordial environment. The delegations parted amidst feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC,” he added.
