Police cracks robbery case, arrests three persons with weapon

Jammu, Aug 1: In a major breakthrough, police on Wednesday claimed to have cracked the 2017 robbery case with the arrest of three persons.
“A major success has been achieved by apprehending the three robbers who were involved in a case of robbery of Rs 18 lakhs at Bahu Plaza area in October last year,” Vinay Kumar, SP South here told reporters.
He said that on specific information Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, Station House Officer, Police Station, Gandhi Nagar under the supervision of DySP Rafiq Manhas, SDPO City South arrested three persons namely Davinder Singh of Model Town Digiana, Jammu, Gagandeep Singh of Ajit Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu and Manmohan Singh of Sector No 4, Sanjay Nagar, Jammu.
“After questioning, all the arrested persons confessed their involvement in the robbery case and on their disclosure motor cycle used in the commission of crime along with one pistol with magazine and one live round was also recovered,” said the SP.
He further added that the accused persons were earlier also involved cases of Arms Act, kidnapping and murder of a minor child namely Shalin Gupta of Nai Basti, Gandhi Nagar Jammu for ransom of Rs 10 lakhs.
The challan of the case already stands produced in the court of law but after five years the accused produced their juvenile certificates and were admitted to bail by the trial court, he added and said that they are being questioned and possibility of more recoveries cannot be ruled out.
