Gagan Bhagat refutes allegations of kidnapping, wife seeks justice for her

Jammu, Jul 12: Jammu and Kashmir BJP MLA on Thursday refuted allegations of kidnapping a minor girl levelled against him while his wife while asserting that something is wrong, sought justice from the disciplinary committee of the party framed to find out the facts.
The state unit of BJP had constituted three-member disciplinary committee headed by Chief Spokesperson Sunil Seth to probe allegations of moral corruption and indiscipline levelled against the MLA, whose objectionable pictures with a minor girl went viral on social media.
On June 24, the family of a retired soldier protested against BJP MLA accusing him of kidnapping their minor daughter from Punjab.
He also appealed to the Governor to help them in tracing their daughter and sought action against the MLA and also threatened to self immolate himself in front of the Governor’s House.
Meanwhile the BJP MLA and his wife on Thursday appeared before the disciplinary committee in view of ongoing investigation.
“The divorce case with my wife is in the court and she also getting Rs One lakh from me monthly,” Bhagat here told reporters.
“All allegations are fake and a conspiracy is hatched to malign my image,” he added and said, “had Gagan Bhagat turned don, a kidnapper or a murderer after BJP do not remain in power?”
“When I joined politics, I was very much aware of dirty games being played in this profession but why you (media) are not playing your role positively and unnecessarily dragging the name of the girl into the case,” he rued.
“First you (media) go and ask the girl whether she was kidnapped or not,” he said and claimed that the family of the girl, his wife and others, have ganged to tarnish his image.
Meanwhile Dr Bhagat’s wife told reporters that she want justice is to be done.
“I will welcome the decision to be taken by the disciplinary committee. I only want that no injustice is done,” she added and alleged that photos went viral on social media hints at something fishy between the girl and her husband (MLA).
Earlier the family of the girl staged protest against the BJP MLA outside the party headquarters for seeking justice and action against him.
