JAMMU, JUL 2: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated its 70th CA Foundation Day. MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion
The J&K branch of ICAI organized various activities such as Flag Hoisting, Blood donation Camp, Plantation Drive, Health Check up by Awaaz Foundation, Zumba Dance by Natraj Studio. The Branch in association with Natraj Studio gave fitness challenge to their members under “Hum Fit toh India Fit” initiative and large number of members enthusiastically accepted the challenge.
Later, Chartered Accountants and CA students donated blood. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion and JKSACS. The J&K Branch has been organizing such camps consecutively for the past several years to mark CA Day celebrations every year. Team of doctors and experts from “”Awaz Foundation” conducted various medical tests and also distributed Medical Kits amongst members.
A family get-together was also organized wherein apart from holding fun-filled activities, senior members and newly-qualified CA of the Branch were also felicitated by MLA Sat Sharma on the occasion.
Ajay Gupta, Chairman J&K Branch welcomed the guests and emphasized on the importance of the CA Day.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Sat Sharma congratulated the CA fraternity and appreciated their role in the society.
Later, J&K Branch also presented ‘CA R C Gupta Memorial Award’, “Sudesh Sawhney Memorial Award”, ‘Omesh Gupta Memorial Award’, ‘Vinod Gupta Memorial Award’ and “G D Gupta Memorial Award’ to the meritorious students of CA Final examination during 2018.
Anish Abrol, Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings. Shalay Razdan, (Vice Chairman), Jatinder Jaiswal (Treasurer), Ashwani Khajuria (Executive Member) among others were also present on the occasion.
