Special teams to provide medical facilities to livestock at highland pastures

POONCH, JUN 12: On the directions of District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad, the District Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department have deputed specialized teams to highland pastures for providing medical, breeding and other allied facilities to the livestock and to prevent any loss of life due to outbreak of any epidemic. The teams were deputed in view of large scale seasonal migration of nomadic population along with their livestock to highland pastures. As many as 11 teams comprising of 33 officers from Sheep Husbandry and 12 officers from Animal Husbandry Departments would cater to the livestock in all major dhokes such as Dhokri, Sheenwali, Girjan, Baranari, Kalamund, Jabbi Totti, Andarwali, Dharan Wali, Parhra, Wansi, Beribara, Moolsar, Kaffer Katha, Sari Mastan, Pir Gali, Gurez, Hill Kaka, Noorpur, Khun Wali, Chebba Katha, Gumsar, Jaddi and Choti Marg. The teams, equipped with adequate medicines and vaccines, will camp in assigned dhokes and will provide all requisite assistance to the nomadic population for safeguarding their livestock. These camps would be supervised and regularly monitored by the assistant surgeons.
