Governor, CM discuss J&K situation with Rajnath Singh

Srinagar, Jun 7: Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, who arrived here today on a two-day visit to the State, held discussions with Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan on various important issues relating to security management, matters relating to efficient delivery of public services and the future growth and development of the State.
Governor briefed Home Minister about the obtaining internal and external security situation, including the position along the IB and LoC, violations of the Ceasefire Agreement, and the impact of the suspension of operations by the Security Forces which was announced by the Government of India on the eve of Ramadhan, on May 16, 2018.
He also briefed Home Minister about the arrangements made for the Amarnath Yatra, which begins on June 28.
Meanwhile Singh also had a one-on-one meeting with Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
During the meeting, overall security situation in the State came up for discussion, particularly after the suspension of operations by the Central Government for the holy month of Ramadhan.
Timely completion of projects under Prime Minister’s Development Plan also came up for discussion during the meeting.
