FLAG MEET: India-Pak agree to maintain peace on IB, next meeting on Jun 21

Jammu, Jun 4: In the backdrop of prevailing tension along international border, both India and Pakistan agreed to maintain peace on the border at a flag meet held here at Octroi post on Monday evening.
However, the next meeting between both the forces will be held on June 21.
“A BSF-Pak Rangers Sector Commander level meeting was held opposite own Octroi Border Outpost at around 1730 hours,” official spokesman here said.
He said that the meeting went off in a conducive atmosphere with prime focus to maintain peace and tranquillity on border.
“It was further decided to hold next Sector Commander level meeting will take place on Jun 21,” he said.
The spokesman said that the meeting is likely to bring firing-free environment, particularly for border area villagers on both sides.
“Commanders on both sides agreed to keep talks on at every level to develop confidence between two border guarding forces,” he added.
On Sunday two BSF personnel got martyred and around 16 persons including a policeman was injured in cross border firing.
