It’s battle of Jammu: Lal Singh

KATHUA: Ex-Minister Choudhary Lal Singh has said that the campaign that he is leading these days is not my battle but the battle of Jammu. Relentlessly carrying forward the battle to end discrimination against Jammu by the Kashmir centric politicians and seeking justice for the victim family of the brutally raped and murdered minor girl of Jammu belonging to Gujjar community, Ch Lal Singh said this while addressing huge gatherings at Parli Bund and Sawan Chak in Kathua district today.
Choudhary Lal Singh reiterated the demand for CBI probe into this heinous crime and said, “CBI probe is not the demand of few individuals but that of entire Jammu region. It is about the honour of the people of this Dogra land who has always sacrificed for the sake of the unity and integrity of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Vociferous on the issue he added “It is not my battle but that of Jammu region. You have to decide what you want. If you regard your honour everything, then you have to rise and stand with all those who are seeking CBI probe in the Rassana case. A government is by the people, of the people and for the people. We have taken up a just cause and we must ensure that justice is done,” said ex-Minister Choudhary Lal Singh.
He asserted “I will not rest till the time CBI probe is not ordered in the Rassana case. Our agitation will continue till our demand is not accepted. We are not going to take a U-turn. Rassana case is a test of our resolve in getting our genuine demands addressed. We will continue our fight and take the agitation forward by speeding-up mass contact programme.”
He maintained that Jammu has been facing the worst kind of discrimination since 1947. “We tried our best to address the issues of discrimination against Jammu region. But it is not possible to undo all the wrongs till the time we do not stand united and walk with hand in hand. Appealing to all the Jammu stalwarts to rise above petty party politics he asked them to unitedly strive for getting what Jammu deserves. CBI probe in the Rassana case would go a long way in ensuring that the injustices meted out to Jammu region are all undone and honour of Dogras is restored,” said Choudhary Lal Singh.
Those who feel this is politics should hang their heads in shame, he said. He urged the people to remain united and keep fighting for the honour of the people of Dogra land.
